BOSTON – The free COVID testing site at Tufts Medical Center opened at 8 a.m. on Tuesday to those in need of testing.

With wind chills appearing to be below zero, many sites, including Worcester’s Commercial Street test site, are closed.

Those in need of testing are urged to check the state’s “Stop the Spread” website to see if the one they intend to visit is open.

At 9 a.m., Governor Charlie Baker is due to make an announcement about testing in Massachusetts.

Boston 25 News last week reported that the State Department of Early Childhood Education and Care was planning to expand testing for workers and families who use the state’s 8 specific daycare sites.

It is not known whether the state plans to expand testing to the general public.
